Duo's Arrest Over Racially Abusive Mail
A MAN and woman have been arrested in connection with sending racially abusive mail to people across the UK, including Lincolnshire. Hampshire Police arrested a 70-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man in Fareham. Both were released on bail until January.
A MASS clear-out has taken place after hundreds of empty cider bottles were dumped at a proper ty. Shocked onlookers gathered at a council house in Browning Drive in Lincoln as the empty bottles were thrown out on to the grass by cleaners.

BRITISH Olympic chief Lord Moynihan has warned that badminton and rhythmic gymnastics will demand guarantees over Olympic lanes if they are to be persuaded to be based at Wembley Arena for London 2012. The Olympic Board yesterday agreed a proposal to base the two sports at Wembley rather than build a temporary venue at north Greenwich, but only if they can get the approval from the sports' international federations.

SERVICE standards at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust have dropped in the past year, new figures can reveal. The trust went from a rating of "good" for its management of quality of services, to the grade below of "fair" in the rankings released by NHS regulator the Quality Care Commission.
A DERELICT building on a Lincoln estate has been gutted in an arson attack. The roof of the former children's centre in Swift Gardens, St Giles, has been completely destroyed following the blaze, which was started in the early hours of yesterday.
