Handicap Win After Five Year Absence

Veteran Lincolnshire horse owner, 81 year-old Frank W. Dennis, of Frampton Hall, Boston, made a spectacular come back after an absence of five years from racing, at the Lincoln summer meeting on the Carholme on June 10, 1959. Mr R. Fawdon, wearing the once so familiar red, white and blue colours, won the Blankney Stakes on Royal Parentage, the only horse which Mr Dennis had in training.

Man Fired Replica Gun at Queen During Ceremony

A Man was arrested for shooting a replica gun at the Queen as she rode past crowds on horseback on June 13, 1981. Marcus Serjeant pointed a pistol directly at the Queen as she turned down Horseguards' Parade for the start of the Trooping the Colour ceremony.

A Disqualified driver was forced to drive after being attacked by his girlfriend, a court heard. Paul Gamble (44), who has been disqualified from driving seven times, yesterday pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and without insurance.

'Happy - and Safe'

Just over half of people living in the North Kesteven District Council area are happy with the way it runs things. Figures released from the 2008/9 financial year, show that 53 per cent of people living in the district, which stretches from North Hykeham, south of Lincoln, down to Sleaford, said they liked the way it was being run.
