The article about the Portland Street 'chapel cinema' (Way We Were, September 23) brought back many happy memories of my childhood.
I lived in Archer Street and was 10 years old at the time the chapel started showing films. As we had no televisions in those days, my friends and I spent many a Sunday night watching the films. But I was dismayed to read that the Mayor thought that we were children who were uncaring or unhearing of the Christian faith and did not know truth, respect or self discipline.See the full content of this document
