I AM not sure that the argument of "speed kills" has been proved in the last couple of weeks.

If, as the Echo reports on March 8, the number of people caught speeding has gone up threefold in two years and yet the number of deaths has gone down by 10 per cent, the argument must follow that speed is not the killer.
