WRITING this tribute piece was always going to be a monumental task purely because the tears that were forming in the corner of my eyes were severely hampering my vision.

Football has this habit of conjuring up heroes on a weekly basis for the smallest of feats and yet there are those who are scarcely deserving of such iconic status.

But in Keith's case never has the word legend been more fitting for a man whose qualities stretched way beyond what he achieved in the game.

For most journalists he would have been a source of valuable information, but to me he was a friend and his son Matt is now one of my closest pals.
