DOES anyone know the genius who came up with the idea of taking a 100 per cent masculine game like football and then - without the consultation of players or supporters - introducing female referees and linesmen? And then, when two men are overheard having a private conversation that refers to such participation, takes action leading to them losing their livelihoods.

As far as I am concerned, I could not care less who referees a football match - they will certainly know more about the off-side rule than I do.
