Summary
RASPBERRIES are extremely easy to prune and if done correctly will lead to better cropping in future years. They grow on a two- year cycle - the canes grow one summer, then fruit the next. The secret is to prune all the canes which have fruited, leaving the new ones which haven't for the following season.
Once you have picked and eaten all the raspberries you can, cut all the old fruited canes down to 2.5cm (1in) above ground level. You can identify the old canes as their tops have a cluster of short sideshoots still showing the brown leaves where you picked the fruit.See the full content of this document
