A "HERO" soldier survived a Taliban explosion only to die in a road accident in Britain the day after leaving a recovery centre, it has emerged.

Rifleman Ross Robinson, who served with 4th Battalion, The Rifles, was killed close to Amesbury in Wiltshire - near Bulford Barracks - early in the morning of April 29.
