Did you know that long before people were kissing under it, Viscum album was an important plant in Greek Mythology? In fact, European Mistletoe wasn't even used as a Christmas decoration until the 18th Century.
Convention dictates mistletoe must not touch the ground between its cutting and its removal at Candlemas. So don't say you haven't been warned if you take it along to your Christmas party but it fails to work its magic after being flung on the floor.
