THE first thing that needs addressing is the presumption that council workers aren't normal people who don't live in "the real world".
Is it the real world where carers are paid the minimum wage to care for the very elderly whose own families virtually ignore them Or is it the real world where young children are allowed out at all hours of the day or night with so many long-term consequences? Or is it the real world where young, poorly educated young adults cannot source advice and help from dedicated professionals who see the need for them to access job and further education to give them a better chance in life? Some people seem to think it's funny to take a pop at a group of people who are facing very real cuts to their living standards, with the consequent threat to their homes and quality of life.See the full content of this document
