VV BROWN - TRAVELLING LIKE THE LIGHT So far, 2009 is shaping up to be the year of the diva. The latest lady to add to the list is VV Brown, who impressed earlier in the year with her debut single Crying Blood. And with her blend of doo-wop, 1950s-inspired styling and intriguing backstory - she lived in LA, writing songs for Pussycat Dolls, among other things - she promised to be the most interesting of this year's rising stars. Unfortunately, her album doesn't live up to such expectation, and under close scrutiny contains too many weak American R& B-esque tracks (Game Over, Back In Time) and sub-Winehouse efforts - Shark In The Water being the worst offender.
