DONATIONS for this year's Lincoln Poppy Appeal have smashed last year's figures.

A total of Pounds 60,000 was donated by residents in Lincoln in just two weeks - almost double the Pounds 35,000 collected last year. The count was carried out by volunteers and staff from Lloyds TSB at RAF Scampton for security.
