Summary


Never in a month of Sundays have I heard such a polarised raft of opinions. In a true case of love it or loathe it, the enticing (to me) Porsche Panamera is the epitome of Porsche engineering know-how and Zuffenhausen styling. The Panamera has received a launch response that has been even harder-edged than the last model in the company's line-up to evoke such strong reactions, the Cayenne SUV. Naturally, there is a tranche of car people that believe vehemently, if the engine is not in the rear, it is most definitely not a Porsche.

However, living with the all-wheel-drive 4S model for a week, I can tell you that it is not merely a true Porsche but a thoroughbred sportscar aura to the four-seater luxury saloon market. It also needs to be remembered that, once your transport aspirations are pitched into the over-Pounds 60k price bracket, invoice price ceases to be an issue.
